"This BSU is the government's effort to maintain the people's purchasing power, especially for workers, to meet their daily needs, amid Indonesia's economic condition, which is still recovering after the COVID-19 pandemic," he noted here, Wednesday.
Nationally, over seven million people, or around 48.4 percent, had received BSU.
"This will be accelerated by Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah, especially for beneficiaries, who are far from the capital city," he remarked.
The president is optimistic that BSU would be able to improve the people's purchasing power and consumption to boost macroeconomic growth.

The government collaborated with BPJAMSOSTEK to provide data for prospective beneficiaries. So far, the agency has successfully submitted data to the Ministry of Manpower on 9.5 million prospective BSU recipients. This number will increase along with the ongoing verification and validation process, Buntoro remarked.
He further noted that currently, the submission of data had entered the third stage while always prioritizing the principle of prudence and data accuracy.
"We thank the government for trusting BPJAMSOSTEK to be a partner in providing data for the BSU program. We are committed to ensuring the program's success. We hope BSU would be distributed to all Indonesian workers," he added.
BSU is a form of the government's appreciation to companies or employers that have registered their employees to become BPJAMSOSTEK participants, in accordance with Manpower Minister Regulation Number 10 of 2022 on the criteria of BSU recipient to participate in the BPJAMSOSTEK.
Recipients should also have a salary of a maximum of Rp3.5 million or equivalent to the provincial and district and city minimum wages and are not civil servants, member of the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI), and/or National Police (Polri).

Buntoro reminded workers to always be careful regarding personal data requests by irresponsible persons on behalf of BPJAMSOSTEK and BSU.
In order to avoid false and misleading information, employees can access their eligibility in receiving BSU through bsu.bpjsketenagakerjaan.go.id.
"We continue to remind employers or companies to continue to update their data and include their workers in employment social security because that is one of the main benefits of getting BSU benefits or other government assistance benefits," he added.
