Jakarta (ANTARA) - The realization of the National Economic Recovery (PEN) budget has reached Rp229.17 trillion, or 50.3 percent of the ceiling of Rp455.62 trillion as of September 2022, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto has said.

"The government continues to push for policies, especially PEN, whose budget realization has reached 50.3 percent or Rp229.17 trillion as of September," he remarked at the “100 years of Eka Tjipta Widjaja” webinar in Jakarta on Monday.

Of the total figure, healthcare realization accounted for Rp39.7 trillion or 32.4 percent of the Rp122.54 trillion ceiling, which was used for the payment of patients’ claims (Rp24.5 trillion) and incentives to health workers (Rp2.7 trillion).

It further covered the procurement of vaccinations (Rp1.7 trillion), provision of health tax incentives (Rp1.5 trillion), as well as regional budget (APBD) support, including the Village Fund for handling COVID-19 (Rp8.4 trillion).

Further, BLT (direct cash assistance) for cooking oil of Rp7 trillion was provided to 23.9 million recipients, fuel cash assistance (BLT BBM) of Rp6.2 trillion was given to 20.65 million beneficiary families (KPM), Pre-Employment Card assistance of Rp12.5 trillion was provided to 3.5 million participants, and village fund unconditional cash transfers (BLT Dana Desa) amounting to Rp19.5 trillion were disbursed to 7.5 million KPM.

In addition, Rp4.25 trillion was provided in wage subsidies for 7.1 million workers, Rp1.3 trillion in cash assistance for street vendors, stalls, and fishermen (BT-PKLWN) was distributed by the police to 683 thousand recipients and by TNI to 1.4 million recipients, while fuel cash assistance (BLT BBM) of Rp6.4 trillion was provided for 20.65 million beneficiary families (KPM).

The realization of PEN also included efforts to strengthen economic recovery (Rp84.2 trillion or 47.2 percent of the Rp178.32 trillion ceiling), labor-intensive programs (Rp13.8 trillion), tourism and creative economy (Rp5.3 trillion), and food security (Rp13.4 trillion).

It further covered support for industrial estates (Rp0.9 trillion), assistance for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the form of interest subsidies and guarantee fee subsidies (Rp20.8 trillion), provision of tax incentives (Rp12.2 trillion), and bolstering of infrastructure and connectivity (Rp10.8 trillion).
