Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) has outlined its strategy for securing the cyber sector, including the digital space, ahead of the G20 Summit, which will be led by Indonesia on November 15–16, 2022.

The strategy has been divided into three periods and is currently underway amid joint security collaboration with the police and the military (TNI).

"We have divided three clusters of cyber security support for the G20 Summit: Both before the event, during the event, and after the event. We do this in order to maximize and see the ideal situation related to cybersecurity that we want to do during the main event on November 15–16," BSSN spokesperson Ariandi Putra said at the #G20updates press conference on Tuesday.

In the current period, namely before the G20 Summit, BSSN is routinely auditing the information security management system.

In addition, it is also measuring the maturity level of cybersecurity ahead of the summit.

"We are also monitoring traffic anomalies and mapping potential cyber threats that BSSN continues to deliver through the National Security Operation Center (NSOC)," Putra said.

Furthermore, for ensuring security on the day of the G20 Summit, BSSN will boost its security measures by continuously monitoring information traffic during the event along with incident information.

Then, signal security in terms of telecommunication services, internet, and power for devices connected to cyber services has also been prepared by BSSN.

BSSN will also carry out digital forensics to minimize the occurrence of cyber crimes and ensure a conducive response to incidents.

After the G20 Summit concludes, BSSN will still carry out security measures by conducting further identification to determine potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

Furthermore, BSSN will conduct a mapping of potential threats to data disclosure after the G20 Summit ends.

And the final steps of digital forensics and incident response will still be carried out to keep the digital space in Indonesia safe and comfortable.

"This is a step that we continue to take so that the ideal situation for G20 cybersecurity can actually be realized and carried out properly," Putra said.

BSSN assured that services for the general public will also be maintained during the G20 Summit and asked all parties, including the public, to always keep the digital space in Indonesia conducive so that the implementation of the international forum can run optimally.
