We recorded the number of Indonesians traveling abroad via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport during the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holidays at 326,044.
Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - At least 326,044 Indonesians have undertaken international travel since the start of the Christmas and New Year holidays, according to the records of Soekarno-Hatta Airport’s immigration office in Tangerang, Banten province.

"We recorded the number of Indonesians traveling abroad via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport during the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holidays at 326,044," head of the immigration office Muhammad Tito Andrianto said on Thursday.

Most of the Indonesian citizens traveled to Asian countries, such as Malaysia, Singapore, China, South Korea, and Japan.

“Most of them traveled to Asian countries such as Malaysia and Singapore,” he said.

Meanwhile, the number of Indonesians returning from overseas via the airport since early December 2022 stood at 285,631, he informed.

He attributed the increasing number of Indonesians traveling to and arriving from abroad via the airport to the government's decision to ease public activity restrictions.
