Amin urged business players to pursue the production target of one million barrels per day of oil and 12 billion standard cubic feet per day of gas by 2030 or earlier.
"To meet that target, there needs to be assurance and ease of business permits, so commercialization can be pursued immediately. Moreover, to expedite the development of gas reserves that have been discovered, so that gas can remain among the superior commodities of Indonesia," the vice president stated.
Amin delivered the statement while officiating the Jambaran-Tiung Biru national strategic project and MDA and MDH gas field project in Surabaya, East Java.
He also urged for completing the national gas policy design covering plans on gas and industrial needs.
The vice president emphasized that gas supply for fertilizers, power plants, the petrochemical industry, and other industries should be gauged and met in order to encourage national industrial growth.
Moreover, the stipulation of specific natural gas price (HGBT) must take into account some aspects, such as the principles of fairness and the balance of benefits received by industrial gas producers, who use gas, and also the government.
The vice president also pressed for immediate completion of gas infrastructure development, as gas fields located far away, especially those in seas, required good infrastructure to source gas to industries and power plants.
"Therefore, push for the construction of the Cirebon-Semarang and Dumai-Sei Mangke transmission pipelines and distribute excess gas supply in East Java from Andaman Aceh. Also push for the receiving terminal construction and regasification as well as the mode of transportation in order to distribute large gas supplies from the refinery," he affirmed.
Amin advised business players to adopt low-carbon technology in the oil and gas industry. He also called on the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) and Cooperation Contract Contractors (KKKS) to utilize low emission technology in their operations, so that they can contribute to the net zero emission target.
"Indonesia's commitment to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions will not dwindle. We continue to make real efforts through energy transition by increasing the use of low-emission energy and renewable energy," he elaborated.
Amin commended all those who supported the Jambaran-Tiung Biru national strategic project and MDA and MDH gas field project development.
"Hopefully, these two projects would be able to increase gas supply by a significant amount and ensure the availability of oil and gas for industries in the East and Central Java regions so as to contribute added value and increase state revenue," he concluded.
