Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah has asked residents living around the new capital (IKN) Nusantara in East Kalimantan to participate in the job market arising from the region's development projects.

"Actually, IKN Nusantara belongs to the Indonesian people from Sabang to Merauke. But most importantly, we want the locals near IKN Nusantara to be able to absorb the benefit of the new capital," she said at the Grha Sabha Pramana building of Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta on Wednesday.

She said that her ministry has prepared a Vocational Training Center in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, to help local people participate in the IKN Nusantara development project.

Apart from that, a "SIAPKerja" pavilion has also been provided in the area to connect a number of companies engaged in IKN Nusantara's development with job seekers.

With these efforts, the Manpower Minister hopes that local people will reap benefits and not only remain spectators in the new capital city.

"We also have the mobile training unit (MTU) to help them prepare themselves before entering the existing job market such as the construction of IKN Nusantara," Fauziyah pointed out.

Special staff to the Minister of Manpower, Caswiyono Rusydie Cakrawangsa, has said separately that the SIAPKerja (information system and application for employment services) pavilion had been prepared in Tengin Baru village, Sepaku sub-district, North Penajam Paser district, which has been designated as the core area of the IKN Nusantara.

The Ministry of Manpower's pavilion provides employment services to the community and integrates all services into one complete employment ecosystem, starting from training, certification, and job placement.

According to Cakrawangsa, the pavilion is not only intended for job seekers in industries and companies, but also for people in the IKN area who wish to become entrepreneurs and self-employed by increasing their competence in certain fields.

The new job opportunities in IKN Nusantara will include those in the field of development, namely basic infrastructure, such as the construction of roads, dams, and buildings, according to Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor.

Jobs will also be provided in other fields, such as property in the form of housing development, the field of electricity-based or environmentally friendly transportation, and the field of hospitality or entertainment, including cafés and tourist destinations.
