"We do not only rely on internal capabilities but also with synergies to improve the quality of our supervisory performance," Inspector General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Faisal Ali Hasyim said in Jakarta on Thursday.
He informed that his party has been closely monitoring the implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage since the planning process of the Hajj Pilgrimage Fees (BPIH) determination.
Hasyim noted that the synergy is a symbol of enthusiasm to continue overseeing the role of the government's Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) in improving the quality of supervisory performance.
According to him, the challenges of organizing this year's Hajj are very different considering there are approximately 64 thousand elderly Hajj candidates.
However, these challenges can be handled with synergy in overseeing and maintaining the pilgrims' satisfaction index recorded during the previous Hajj implementation.
"This synergy is the beginning of the two Inspectorate Generals collaborating for the benefit of the people," Hasyim remarked.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of the Health Ministry Murti Utami welcomed the synergy for monitoring the 2023 Hajj.
According to Utami, her party also shares the vision to monitor the Hajj pilgrimage organization in terms of accountability and performance.
"In the future, we hope that the output from the cooperation can improve the quality of the program and provide several recommendations for improvement. This includes recommendations regarding health services for pilgrims," she conveyed.
Earlier, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj of Saudi Arabia, held a briefing on the technical guidance for the heads of flight groups ahead of the 2023 Hajj season.
"Hajj officers, especially the head of the flight groups, will learn to improve their skills, empathy, and management in serving pilgrims in Saudi Arabia," the Ministry's Director of Hajj Development, Arsad Hidayat, said.
He added that the technical guidance aims to maintain the quality of Hajj officers in assisting and serving pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
