"This activity's speaker is Dr Gia Pratama Putra, a health practitioner, with the topic of efforts to improve awareness over the importance of maintaining health among (members of the) productive age population," Ministry's Official Nia Reviani stated.
This activity, held in collaboration with KlikDokter, is intended to provided education on healthy behavior and lifestyle in the working environment, she noted here on Friday.
"The materials discussed in this activity encompass the prevalence of health conditions in Indonesia, epidemiology transition based on disease group, non-communicable diseases, and preventive and promotional efforts in preventing non-communicable diseases," she remarked.
Reviani stressed that promotional and preventive efforts are important to prevent non-communicable diseases.
"Promotional and preventive efforts are important to be undertaken, especially for the productive age population, to improve health quality," she affirmed.
Indonesia currently faces several burdens of both communicable and non-communicable diseases, she explained.
"Data gathered by the ministry shows that 73 percent of the deaths in Indonesia are caused by diseases, such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, and stroke," she stated.
Through this, the ministry continues to its efforts to disseminate information to improve the public's awareness and understanding.
"The ministry expects that the people, especially those in the productive age group, are becoming more aware of the importance of maintaining health and implementing healthy lifestyle in daily life," she remarked.
Intensifying this awareness is expected to reduce the number of incidents of non-communicable diseases among members of the productive age population that in turn supports Indonesians to lead healthier lives.
