Ganjar Pranowo, who is the presidential candidate of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), was seen entering and exiting the side door of the state secretariat building.
"The arrangement of Borobudur must be completed in 2024, and the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment said that the institution (supervising it) should be single," he said here on Tuesday.
The meeting discussed the role of the central, provincial, and district/city governments in accelerating Borobudur Temple’s revitalization, he informed.
Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, and Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas also attended the limited meeting.
Pranowo informed that President Widodo has requested that all parties—ministry, province, and district/city officials—accelerate the revitalization of the Borobudur area as it is a part of national strategic projects.
The Borobudur Temple’s revitalization is expected to be completed on time.
In an official statement received here, Pranowo said that he always discusses something political when he meets the President.
"There are always (political discussions). When I meet Mr. Jokowi, there is always a discussion about it," he added.
During the meetings, Widodo discusses communication between political parties. He also monitors developments every day.
"So, when a party leader meets other parties, he always monitors it. He asked me earlier, do you know the news, Mr Governor?" Pranowo said.
Meanwhile, the government is preparing a revitalization plan for the Borobudur Temple Complex in Central Java by collaborating with other ministries and conservation experts from UNESCO.
