Jakarta (ANTARA) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas has said that the Digital Public Service Mall (MPP) could make it easier for people to access public services anywhere.

"Earlier, people had to directly visit the location to access services. Now, they no longer need to do that because the services can be accessed anywhere, anytime through various electronic devices," he said.

Anas made the statement at the soft launch of the National Digital MPP at the Vice Presidential Palace here on Tuesday.

He informed that with the establishment of the Digital MPP, which his ministry developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs, people will only need to have one account and fill in their data once to access public services on government applications.

According to him, the Digital MPP is an advanced version of the conventional MPP rolled out in dozens of districts and cities. It was developed in accordance with the directions of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin regarding digital public services.

He said that MPPs and Digital MPPs are a form of implementing reforms in the public service sector.

He further said that MPPs, in particular, are expected to support the acceleration of business licensing in order to improve Indonesia's competitiveness amid global competition.

Twenty-one districts and cities are serving as the loci for the Digital MPP pilot project, namely Banyuwangi, Banyumas, Brebes, Grobogan, South Hulu Sungai, Kotawaringin, Magetan, Musi Rawas, Sragen, Tuban, Banda Aceh, Batam, Bukittinggi, Kendari, Magelang, Metro, Mojokerto, Samarinda, Surakarta, Tanjung Pinang, and Yogyakarta.
