Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) stated that it is targeting to complete the construction of ministerial-position tread houses (RTJMs) in the capital city Nusantara (IKN) by the year 2024.

"PUPR Ministry's Directorate General of Housing is constantly speeding up the development process of ministerial-position tread houses in IKN," Iwan Suprijanto, the ministry's Director General of Housing, stated in Jakarta on Friday.

According to Suprijanto, the RTJM development process in IKN has reached 16.8-percent completion as of July 10, 2023. The PUPR Ministry has stipulated the year 2024 as the targeted completion year for the 36 units of RTJM in Nusantara City.

Meanwhile, Hujurat, the Directorate General's Head of the Kalimantan Housing Provision Executive Center I, remarked that the ministry is also paying close attention to several aspects related to the construction area, house design, and technology application in executing the construction of houses.

The PUPR Ministry is ensuring that both the construction site and design for the houses take into account the land contours, climate, and disaster while applying the smart home system.

The RTJMs being built will have underground, ground, and upper floors. The underground floors are designed to host drivers' bedrooms, bathroom, and guard rooms, while the ground and upper floors will serve as office areas and family private areas respectively.

Each house is equipped with complete furniture, with the building measuring 580 square meters and is situated on approximately one thousand square meters of land.

The construction process is being executed by state-owned construction company PT Adhi Karya and Ciriajasa Engineering & Management Consultant under the supervision of state-owned consulting company PT Yodya Karya.

"We are also applying Indonesia's traditional elements to the building design. Furthermore, the residents will be provided with quick and easy access to social and public facilities," Hujurat noted.
