"I would like to thank the leaders of high state institutions, scholars, religious leaders, community leaders and traditional leaders, teachers, humanists, health workers and members of the media, political parties, politicians, government officials and the TNI/Polri, as well as all levels of society that have provided support so far," Jokowi remarked while delivering a speech at the 2023 MPR Annual Session and the 2023 DPR and DPD Joint Session at the Nusantara Building in the Senayan Parliament Complex in Jakarta, Wednesday.
Jokowi commended MPR's efforts in strengthening the foundation of nationalism, increasing understanding of the nation's ideology, studying the substance and form of the main legal framework, as well as strengthening international cooperation to contribute to solving global problems.
Meanwhile, the head of state drew attention to DPR's enormous support for conducting structural reforms, backing efforts to improve governance, avoiding misuse of state financial management, and preparing for the implementation of the 2024 General Elections.
The president noted that the DPD, in accordance with its authority, had also actively absorbed the aspirations of the local people, played a role in drafting several bills, and also conducted a review of the state administration system.
"The BPK's (Financial Audit Board's) contribution is also very significant in encouraging budget accountability as well as the continuous improvement of national priority programs. The efforts of the Supreme Court in creating justice should be appreciated through increasing judicial transparency, developing an electronic-based justice system, and accelerating the process of handling cases at low cost," he explained.
Furthermore, Jokowi said the Constitutional Court (MK) had proven to be faster in resolving cases, been transparent in the trial process, and had simplified the service of justice.
Meanwhile, Jokowi stated that the Judicial Commission (KY) had continued to actively advocate for training and investigations as well as imposed strict sanctions on judges that violated the law to uphold the honor, nobility, and behavior of judges.
"Apart from that, I would also like to thank Bank Indonesia, OJK (Financial Services Authority), LPS (Deposit Guarantee Agency), KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission), Ombudsman, KPU (General Elections Commission), Bawaslu (Election Supervisory Agency), Komnas HAM (National Human Rights Commission), and other national institutions, which have contributed according to their roles and authorities," Jokowi remarked.
The president also prayed that Allah SWT, the God Almighty, would always facilitate the efforts of the Indonesian people in achieving the aspired "Indonesia Maju."
"Let us unite and keep advancing for Indonesia Maju," President Jokowi stated.
