Jakarta (ANTARA) - Ministerial-position tread houses (RTJMs) in the capital city Nusantara (IKN) will be ready to be occupied by mid-2024, according to the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry.

"God willing, all the houses will be ready to be utilized in the middle of next year," the ministry's Director General of Housing Iwan Suprijanto stated in Jakarta on Friday.

Suprijanto noted that the ministry had been working on the construction of the 36 houses since the end of 2022, with the physical construction been 22.86-percent complete as of August this year.

The RTJMs being built will have two floors. The ground floors will serve as an office area with terraces, working spaces, waiting rooms, and guests' bedrooms.

Meanwhile, the upper floors will function as a private area comprising family rooms, master bedrooms, and children's bedrooms.

Each house will be equipped with complete furniture, with the building measuring 580 square meters and situated on approximately one thousand square meters of land.

In developing the houses, the PUPR Ministry is paying close attention to several aspects related to the construction area, house design, and the application of technology.

To achieve optimal results, the ministry is ensuring that both the construction site and design for the houses take into account the land contours, climate, and disaster while applying the smart home system.

Moreover, in terms of the aesthetics aspect, the PUPR Ministry is developing the houses by applying Indonesia's traditional elements to the building design to showcase the beauty of Indonesian culture.

In addition, residents of the houses will be provided with quick and easy access to social and public facilities.

The PUPR Ministry is planning to conduct a commissioning or inspection on the houses in July of 2024 before declaring the houses as habitable accommodation.

The inspection process will be conducted to ensure that the installation and construction of lights, water flow, staircases, and division of rooms, among other things, are already well done as expected, he said.
