The president is scheduled to visit Palu on Wednesday (August 30) to open an activity organized by Central Sulawesi's Hindu Student Association at the Tadulako University.
"We are conducting a preparedness roll call to ensure that we will be ready to guarantee the security of Mr President and his entourage during their time here," XIII/Merdeka Regional Military Commander Major General Legowo Jatmiko stated in Palu City on Tuesday.
Commander Jatmiko made his remarks during the roll call that was conducted to inspect the preparedness of all personnel that will be dispatched to ensure that the president's visit goes smoothly.
During the roll call, he urged all personnel to conduct their duties with full responsibility according to their respective functions and tasks.
"I want you to note that the safety of Mr President is directly linked to the honor and dignity of the Indonesian nation. We all should invest maximum efforts to ensure the safety of him and his entourage during the visit," he told the joint personnel.
He pushed all personnel to fulfill their duties while upholding the value of discipline and adhering to related applicable rules and regulations, with the objective of averting any activities that can disrupt the president's visit.
"I would like to emphasize the importance of establishing coordination and communication among cross-sectoral units to immediately and effectively respond to any likely disruptions," he noted while highlighting the need to map out and monitor disruption-prone zones.
Jatmiko also reminded the personnel to act wisely and refrain from behaving in ways that can tarnish the reputation of their respective institutions.
