"They came to BPJS to see how our informatics technology system works with modern digitalization, including the system for patients' medical records. We have also covered 95 percent of the public's participation in 10 years. Not many countries in the world have done that," BPJS president director Ghufron Mukti said at his office on Wednesday.
He highlighted that data owned by his party is an asset that can be utilized for research purposes and for devising credible and evidence-based policies to support the optimization of the JKN program implementation.
"The JKN program data and information is like a gold mine. Every day, there are 1.4 million transactions with 112 data transactions taking place within the JKN Program ecosystem, or 1,296 data transactions per second," Mukti pointed out.
He then noted that BPJS Health has developed several digital innovations to support the provision of health services to participants, including online queues to reduce waiting times at health facilities, health history screening services to detect the risk of chronic diseases early, online consultations with doctors, and i-Care JKN.
"JKN participants can easily check their history of health services at first-level health facilities (FKTP) and advanced-level referral health facilities (FKRTL)," he informed.
He explained that this information includes details of diagnosis, medical procedures, health facilities providing services, and dates of service in one year.
Through i-Care JKN, doctors can also plan appropriate treatment based on real-time, actual, and factual data, which will increase efficiency in health services, Mukti added.
During the visit, Ethan Wong from the JLN steering group said that he was happy to visit the BPJS Health office to learn about the achievements of other countries in realizing universal health coverage (UHC).
"Other countries also have the opportunity to do what BPJS Health is doing. I hope that all delegates can take advantage of this visit to apply it to other countries," Wong added.
