"In the near future… We will welcome that good day which will arrive soon," he said during the commemoration of the 78th anniversary of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) in Jakarta.
The government and stakeholders have discussed the regulation, which focuses on cooperation between the media and digital platforms. The regulation is a joint effort to realize the continuity of quality media and journalism.
Setiadi expressed his appreciation for the consistency shown by the national press community in overseeing the regulation's approval process.
He said that the discussion process was successful in finding a solution that addresses everyone's concerns.
"We have discussed it, and the government agreed that this regulation must be approved as soon as possible," he added.
Setiadi emphasized that support from all parties is needed to ensure the continuity of quality media and journalism. The regulation is expected to serve as a legal basis that will become a reference for all.
He expressed the belief that cooperation between the media and digital platforms can be realized and generate maximum benefits with legal certainty.
The government is also preparing mitigation measures so that after the regulation comes into effect, all parties can implement it optimally, he disclosed.
"We are quite optimistic, and the government is committed to ensuring effective implementation of mitigation and solutions," he said.
