Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Presidential Palace in Jakarta has made preparations for receiving former presidents, vice presidents, and officials, besides residents during the open house on Eid al-Fitr, which is predicted to fall on Wednesday (April 10, 2024).

"We will serve former officials, former VVIPs, and former presidents and vice presidents planning to visit (the palace). We will facilitate them to greet Mr. President (Joko Widodo) and treat them with a banquet," the Presidential Secretariat's protocol bureau head, Yusuf Permana, informed here on Tuesday.

He noted that the Presidential Secretariat has not sent out special invitations for this year's open house, adding that the Presidential Palace will start welcoming guests from 9 a.m.

"We would like to once again emphasize that we are not sending invitations. We are open to guests seeking to greet the President and Vice President and their spouses during the open house," he underlined.

Permana said that the secretariat has prepared a dedicated entrance for VVIP guests, especially former presidents and former vice presidents of the country.

"We will provide the finest services to everyone, ensuring comfort and security for all guests visiting the Presidential Palace to greet the President and First Lady on this year's Eid al-Fitr moment," he added.

Yusuf said that the planned open house at the Presidential Palace is aimed at bringing people together to ask for forgiveness from one another, similar to the previous open house editions held at the palace.

"Mr. President has instructed us to once again host an open house at the palace following the end of the COVID-19 pandemic era. People will meet and forgive each other on the Eid al-Fitr moment," he said.
