According to Kahfi, this year's Eid was quite special, as it fell after the 2024 election.
"The month of Ramadan this time feels special, as we must be grateful that the Presidential Election and the Legislative Election were among the world's biggest democratic events that had been successfully carried out," Kahfi noted in an official statement received here on Wednesday.
He believed that this year's Eid is special, as it can be celebrated simultaneously, as Muhammadiyah and the government's determination on the Eid al-Fitr date is the same.
Kahfi remarked that the Religious Affairs Ministry has demonstrated its role as a driver of tolerance by ensuring that differences should not divide people, and these efforts should be lauded and become an example for all parties.
"As people of faith, we should all be grateful for that. Let us unite again only for our beloved Indonesia," he remarked.

Hence, to this end, he expressed hope that all parties would avoid being suspicious towards one another, steer clear of the blame game, and avoid speaking negatively.
"(This is) so that all can embrace each other as fellow countrymen," he remarked.
He emphasized that the nation's real enemies were poverty, ignorance, and the slow pace of technological advancement and not the differences in understanding and perspective.
Earlier, the Religious Affairs Ministry had set 1 Shawwal 1445 Hijri or Eid al-Fitr 2024 AD to fall on Wednesday (April 10) after an isbat session held at the ministry's office on Tuesday (April 9).
Thus, the government, Nahdlatul Ulama, and Muhammadiyah's determination on the Eid al-Fitr date this year falls on the same day.
