Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Industry sought to establish cooperation in industrial human resources (HR) development at the 2024 Hannover Messe exhibition in Germany, which was held from April 22–26.

The collaboration was pursued on the sidelines of a business forum organized by the Indonesian Pavilion at the exhibition, which discussed support for digital transformation, especially for human resource development.

"The business forum is expected to increase our cooperation and expand business opportunities for our economic growth," Head of the ministry's Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI), Masrokhan, said in a statement released by his office on Saturday.

He said that BPSDMI conducted bilateral discussions with German company IFM, which operates in the smart technology sector.

According to him, IFM, which also has branches in Indonesia, submitted plans for collaborative programs and activities with BPSDMI through the Digital Industry Center (PIDI 4.0), which replicate the collaboration between BPSDMI and another German manufacturing equipment manufacturing company, FESTO.

In addition, Masrokhan also held a bilateral meeting with Solinatra, and will follow up on proposals for cooperation in industrial human resource development as well as digital transformation prioritizing the sustainability and green industry.

He noted that PIDI 4.0 is part of the Making Indonesia 4.0 road map priorities launched by President Joko Widodo in 2018.

The facility was built to transform Indonesian industries and help them modernize. Currently, it has 48 national and international partners consisting of industrial companies, associations, educational institutions, and other collaborative partners, he informed.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry successfully established 13 industrial collaborations worth more than Rp5 trillion (US$1 = around Rp16,241) at the 2024 Hannover Messe global industrial exhibition.

The 13 cooperation agreements, which include pacts with TechnoGIS and FRAUNHOFER IPK for collaborative research and forest monitoring development, were signed on the third day of the event.
