"In terms of digital infrastructure, the ministry has implemented several programs, the first of which is the digitization of national television broadcasting through the Analog Switch-Off (ASO)," he said in a press statement received here.
The Communication and Informatics Ministry (Kominfo) carried out the migration of analog to digital television broadcasting by distributing set-top boxes to more than 1.3 million poor households.
Then, there is the 4G Mobile Broadband Service Provision Program that involves the construction of base transceiver stations (BTS).
BTS construction has been completed in 6,672 locations, with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurating the operation of 4G BTS for frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged (3T) areas in Talaud, North Sulawesi, last year.
Kominfo is also working to boost the utilization of the Palapa Ring backbone network that is now fully operational.
The utilization of the Palapa Ring in 57 cities/districts has reached 57 percent for service-level agreement (SLA) services, and 100 percent for operational services through public-private partnerships.
Minister Setiadi also listed other infrastructure development ecosystems that have been realized, such as the Indonesian Digital Test House, an international device testing center with a 1,720 Mhz radio frequency spectrum.
"In May (2024), the President launched the international device testing center, namely the Indonesian Digital Test House (IDTH). There is also the Radio Frequency Spectrum (SFR) of 1,720 Mhz," he noted.
He said that his ministry is preparing a policy related to its utilization.
The ministry has also built national data centers (PDNs) in Cikarang, West Java, and Batam, Riau Islands, to support national data consolidation.
