Jakarta (ANTARA) - Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi voiced his support to the formation of the Task Force for Public Communication for Cultural Wisdom (SKPKB) that will involve artists in the country.

The minister noted in his statement here on Saturday that the task force would comprise artists, as they play a crucial role in maintaining cultural wisdom and national identity.

"They are the guardians, conservationists, and developers of the nation's culture and play an active role in providing enlightenment in the era of social media," Setiadi stated.

The minister made the remarks while receiving Chairman of the Public Policy Guardian Network (JPKP), Maret Samuel Sueken, a representative from the Cross-Cultural Generation Foundation Raja Asdi, and film actor Fendy Pradana some time ago.

Meanwhile, Asdi stated that the foundation and the JPKP would actively involve cross-profession, cross-generational, and cross-cultural artists in the country to support the SKPKB task force.

"In the future, the task force will be active in the virtual and real world to design various ideas for public communication of cultural wisdom and as a platform of national voice in an intense and maximum way," he elaborated.

Pradana, famous for his role as Brama Kumbara in the film Saur Sepuh, expressed his readiness to be part of SKPKB.

The man, born in Jember, East Java, on February 13, 1965, remarked that artists' role in society includes being agents of change who raise their voices against social issues and unify the nation.

Pradana emphasized that artists are an important asset for the nation and must be supported and empowered.

"They can continue to work and preserve the nation's culture as an effective partner in public communication," he stated.
