"We prepare all needs at the main media center, both the satellite and the venue, including the interview area and the talk show area," Kominfo's director general of public information and communication, Prabu Revolusi, told ANTARA here on Thursday.
He said that the preparations for the PON media center are under process, adding that the ministry has communicated with the PON Committee regarding the services that will be provided.
Buffer media centers that will be supported by satellite will also be prepared at several points in both provinces.
The facilities at the media center will include a comfortable work area with high-speed Internet access, both via WiFi and LAN cable, Revolusi informed.
The media center, he said, will also be equipped with personal computers to support journalists in their work.
Other facilities will comprise daily press releases in the form of photos, videos, and text; a press conference area with a planned schedule; and a printing and copy center that can be used for free.
The media center will also have a 1-on-1 interview studio and a spot for doorstop interviews, a relaxation area with electric massage chairs, as well as free food and drinks during operating hours.
"The Internet is supported by Kominfo, Internet network providers, and also by regional Kominfo offices. The network is one of the key needs for the publication of Aceh-North Sumatra PON,” Revolusi said.
This year PON will be held from September 8 to 20.
The national multi-sports event will open in Aceh and close in North Sumatra.
