Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Health is highlighting efforts toward the digital transformation of health services at the Hospital Management Asia (HMA) 2024 conference in Nusa Dua, Bali.

The conference is being held from August 27 to 30.

Deputy Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono said on Wednesday that the forum has brought together hospitals across Asia that are pursuing various innovations in hospital management.

The annual event serves as a platform to exchange ideas and share the latest information on health services. This year, the event is being held for the first time in Indonesia, in collaboration with the Indonesian Private Hospitals Association (ARSSI).

Harbuwono emphasized the importance of digital transformation in health management.

This is in line with the government’s efforts to fully implement digitalization in hospital operations, including health data integration through the SATUSEHAT platform.

He noted that the Ministry of Health is encouraging hospitals to increase international cooperation in the fields of services and research to improve the capacity and quality of care.

"Events such as Hospital Management Asia 2024 provide a golden opportunity to explore innovative solutions and bolster collaboration and the exchange of best practices," he said.

At the conference, hospital managers from Indonesia, along with partners from Asia and beyond, will share ideas on digital transformation and how to ensure a return on investment in implementing digital health solutions.

In response to the health challenges faced by Indonesia, where many people are seeking medical treatment abroad, Harbuwono emphasized the government’s commitment to building a more integrated and resilient health system.

He affirmed that the government has initiated the transformation of hospitals under the Ministry of Health.

The transformation includes improving facilities and service processes to reduce waiting times, enhancing service quality through human resource development, increasing transparency, and revising the remuneration scheme.

"We are also continuing to make efforts to improve clinical quality standards by implementing Clinical Practice Guidelines and regularly monitoring clinical indicators," he said.
