Jakarta (ANTARA) - The leadership dispute in Indonesia's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) has been resolved as the two claimants have achieved "strategic resolutions," according to Arsjad Rasjid, Kadin's Chairperson for the 2021-2026 period.

The issue stemmed from the disputed organization of the 2024 Kadin Extraordinary National Deliberation on September 14, which saw Anindya Bakrie elected as the new chairperson. Rasjid contested the assembly's legality as most of Kadin's regional branches rejected it.

"The resolution achieved reflects our commitment to remain faithful to the organization's rules, primarily to the Kadin's Articles of Association and Bylaws," Rasjid noted in his written statement as received on Saturday.

The consensus was achieved under mutual understanding about the need to resolve the internal dispute and refocus the Kadin for the national economic interest, he explained.

Kadin and its regional branches will continue working as the government's strategic partner in developing inclusive, just, and sustainable economic growth, Rasjid affirmed.

However, he did not divulge further about the strategic solution agreed to resolve the leadership dispute with Bakrie.

On Friday (September 28) evening, the public was made aware, through a video circulating in social media that Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia had brokered a meeting between Rasjid and Bakrie, purportedly to help the two resolve their conflict.

"These are my best friends, Mr Arsjad and Mr Anindya. Both of them have reconciled for the sake of the betterment of the organization," Lahadalia stated in the video.

"They have met with and forgave each other because Kadin should be better in the future, and we must work for it," he added.

In the same video, Bakrie affirmed that he would work with all parties to improve Kadin, including Rasjid.
