"President Jokowi has sent a letter to propose (the name of) Mr. Herindra as the new head of BIN," Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Puan Maharani remarked here on Tuesday.
She noted that Herindra, currently serving as deputy defense minister, would undergo a fit and proper test with a team that DPR formed to provide considerations in the dismissal and appointment of BIN leader on Wednesday (October 16) morning.
During a DPR plenary meeting earlier on Tuesday, Maharani stated that the House had received Presidential Letter No. R51, signed on October 10, regarding the request for considerations in the dismissal and appointment of the BIN head.
"The letter has been convened in a consultative meeting participated by leaders of the DPR and of factions on October 14, 2024," she remarked.
Considering that the DPR's complementary organs for the 2024-2029 term had yet to be formed, she remarked that the consultative meeting decided to establish a team tasked with discussing and assessing matters related to the dismissal and appointment of the BIN head.
The House speaker noted that the team would then report the results of its work at the next plenary meeting.
Here is the list of members of the newly formed team from each faction:
- PDIP Faction: Utut Adianto, Said Abdullah, and Dolfie O. F. P;
