He said that the rehearsal reflected the satisfactory preparations made by the agencies involved in the inauguration ceremony.
"The preparation for the ceremony carried out by the MPR Secretariat General, the Ministry of State Secretariat, and other agencies proceeds well, and its results are satisfactory," he added at the Parliament Complex here.
He expressed the hope that residents will help ensure the successful conduct of the inauguration ceremony on Sunday.
He also asked for forgiveness from residents who could likely be affected by traffic disruptions near the Parliament Complex on Inauguration Day.
"In less than 24 hours, the Republic of Indonesia's new president and vice president elected in the 2024 Presidential Election will be sworn into office at this place," the MPR Speaker emphasized.
ANTARA reported that Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka arrived at the Parliament Complex for the dress rehearsal at 10:19 a.m. local time.
He was accompanied by MPR Speaker Muzani and deputy speakers during the dress rehearsal. According to Muzani, Gibran "was glad the Sunday ceremony will be simple and concise."
The presidential inauguration ceremony will take place at the Parliament Complex at 10 a.m. local time on Sunday. Around 1,100 guests are expected to join it.
Presidential Secretariat chief Heru Budi Hartono said on Friday that state guests from 20 countries, the envoy to the United Nations, and 13 special envoys representing heads of state are expected to attend the Prabowo-Gibran inauguration ceremony.
More leaders from friendly countries are expected to arrive by Saturday night for the event.
