Jakarta (ANTARA) - Last week, ministers and officials of the Red and White Cabinet attended a retreat at the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, Central Java, from October 24 to 27.

Although most Cabinet members lack a military background, they expressed their commitment to the retreat, saying they were physically and mentally prepared to participate fully.

Their readiness was seen as essential, as the retreat aimed to strengthen bonds and increase solidarity among Cabinet members.

Cabinet unity is crucial to implementing the programs and actions of the Asta Cita, or the eight primary missions of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, designed to achieve the "Together, Toward Golden Indonesia 2045" vision.

The Prabowo-Gibran administration will carry out these Asta Cita missions over the next five years (2024–2029).

The first four missions include reinforcing the Pancasila ideology, democracy, and human rights; enhancing national security and defense; and promoting national self-sufficiency in food, energy, water, creative economy, green economy, and blue economy.

These missions also include creating more quality jobs, fostering entrepreneurship, expanding creative industries, and continuing infrastructure development.

Additionally, they emphasize human resource development, science, technology, education, health, sports, and gender equality, while increasing the roles of women, youth, and people with disabilities.

The fifth mission focuses on advancing downstreaming and industrialization programs to increase economic value, and the sixth mission aims to promote development from the village level upward to improve economic equity and accelerate poverty reduction.

The seventh mission addresses political, legal, and bureaucratic reforms, as well as the prevention and eradication of corruption and illegal drugs.

The final mission centers on environmental, natural, and cultural harmony and encourages religious tolerance to foster a just and prosperous society.

These missions require a strong commitment from Red and White Cabinet members, who have actively engaged since their inauguration on October 21.

Working as a team

Public policy expert Prof. Slamet Rosyadi from Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) expressed hope that the Cabinet members would overcome future coordination challenges among ministries and agencies.

During the retreat, President Prabowo urged his team to work in unison, aiming for shared goals and teamwork rather than individual efforts.

He also encouraged Cabinet members to draw lessons from football, where all players must share the same vision and commitment to win.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of discipline and loyalty to the nation, urging members to remain united and resolute in fulfilling their duties.

One of Prabowo’s most impactful statements was on leadership:

“If the followers are wet, the leader must also be wet. If they are hot, the leader must feel hot as well. If they are hungry, the leader must feel hungry too. That is the essence of our leadership,” he said.

This statement underscores that members of the Red and White Cabinet should set an example not only for their ministries or agencies but also for the people of Indonesia.

Quick work

The retreat concluded on the afternoon of October 27, and Cabinet members immediately began working on the Asta Cita missions.

Some ministers, such as Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, expressed their readiness to resume work directly after the retreat.

Minister of Housing and Settlements Maruarar Sirait and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian inspected the Pasar Rumput Flat in Jakarta on October 27, heading there immediately from the retreat.

They were still wearing the retreat T-shirts—dark blue with the Garuda logo on the chest and red and white stripes on the upper arms.

Similarly, Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq visited the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST) in Bekasi, West Java, on the same day he returned from Magelang.

Their quick action following the retreat is commendable. However, challenges remain, including the establishment of organizational structures for new ministries and agencies in the first 100 days.

The four-day, three-night retreat at the Military Academy was meaningful, and it is hoped that their commitment to the Asta Cita missions will persist, driving Indonesia toward becoming an advanced nation by 2045.
