Jakarta (ANTARA) - Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf ensured that aid for refugees of the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), will be sufficient for the next week.

"Currently, the available logistics buffer stock is still sufficient to meet the needs of refugees for the next week. If it is still insufficient, we will immediately send additional aid to the location," the minister, commonly known as Gus Ipul, noted in a press statement in Jakarta on Sunday.

He also ensured that the Ministry of Social Affairs guaranteed that the refugees would receive adequate assistance.

Taufik Syaera, a team member from the Directorate of Social Protection for Natural Disaster Victims (PSKBA), currently on duty at the refugee camp in Lewolaga Village, East Flores Regency, remarked that the second phase of aid arrived at the refugee camp on Friday from the Sentra Efata Kupang logistics warehouse.

The second phase of aid comprises 566 food packages for children, seven units of foodware, 43 units of family kitchen equipment, 117 packages of children's clothing, 114 packages of adult clothing, 217 packages of family supplies, and 74 packages of children's clothing.

In addition, the aid encompasses 40 mattresses, 924 blankets, four multipurpose tents, 39 family tents, 241 roll-up tents, three generator units, and three portable toilets.

The total value of the second phase of logistical aid distributed by the Ministry of Social Affairs was Rp887 million (US$56,603).

In addition to the logistical aid, the Ministry of Social Affairs provided 2,500 basic food packages and 21,000 kg of rice to meet the food needs of survivors while in the camp.

On the seventh day after the eruption, the Ministry of Social Affairs distributed aid worth Rp3.14 billion (US$200,366).

Moreover, the Ministry of Social Affairs provides psychosocial support services (LDP) to help in trauma rehabilitation and positive time utilization. The LDP activities comprise psychotherapy, game therapy, spiritual therapy, psychoeducation, and religious spirituality.
