Indonesia won against Saudi Arabia 2-0. Twenty-year-old Marselino Ferdinan made the two winning goals for Indonesia at the match held at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) here on Tuesday.
Ferdinan conquered Saudi goalkeeper Ahmed Al-Kassar with a pleasing kick in the 32nd minute and then elegantly chipped the ball in the 57th minute.
"We learned that if we work hard together as a team, we have the chance (to win) against anyone. We created chances that we scored two goals, but I think we can score more goals," Oratmangoen told the media after the match at SUGBK on Tuesday.
With the victory, Indonesia has risen to third place in Group C, with six points.
While Indonesia has outperformed Saudi, Bahrain, and China, it is below Australia, which has seven points, and far below Japan, which is first with 16 points.
However, Indonesia still has a chance to compete at the 2026 World Cup. Oratmangoen reiterated that consistency in the team's performance in the next two matches in March 2025 will be important. Indonesia will go up against Australia and Bahrain in the two matches.
"I think it is important for us to maintain the good points from this match and continue to improve in March," he said.
Furthermore, he underlined his team's tireless performance from the start to the end.
"In the end, we were all a little tired, but we have shown quality and consistency," added the 26-year-old striker.
