Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN RB), on Thursday, launched 42 new public service malls in regions across the country.

"The government began developing public service malls in 2017. The number of public service malls increased from only three to 230. Then today, we inaugurated 42 more, so we now have 272 public service malls in total," PAN RB Minister Rini Widiyantini remarked.

Speaking at her office in Jakarta, she praised 42 regional governments for their commitment to improving the quality of their public service through the establishment of the public service malls.

Widyantini then highlighted that of the 38 provinces of Indonesia, four have formed a public service mall in each of the cities and districts that constitute them.

"I would like to appreciate four provinces, namely Yogyakarta Special Region, Central Java Province, Banten Province, and Bali Province. These provinces have reached 100 percent (coverage of public service malls)," she pointed out.

Furthermore, the minister reminded regional leaders against viewing the establishment and inauguration of the public service malls as ceremonial.

"The truth is that we are launching new hopes and visions of providing even better public services to all citizens of Indonesia," she told local leaders.

Widiyantini then added that the Ministry of PAN RB would continue to work toward leading other provinces to develop more public service malls in their regions.
