"Since 2016, we have rehabilitated many ex-prisoners and victims of terrorism, helping them return to their families and communities so they can live peacefully and contribute to our country," Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf remarked here on Wednesday.
During a meeting with BNPT Chief Eddy Hartono, the minister expressed his appreciation for the robust partnership between the two institutions.
He encouraged further cooperation on programs that align with today's challenges in the rehabilitation and integration of ex-prisoners and victims of terrorism.
The meeting also focused on improving services and programs that had earlier encountered obstacles.
Meanwhile, BNPT Chief Hartono highlighted the importance of ongoing coordination, communication, and collaboration between BNPT and the Social Ministry, particularly in boosting prevention efforts.
He noted that the meeting aimed to strengthen the coordination team focused on deradicalization efforts.
"Our focus is on rehabilitation and social reintegration, both within and outside the prison," he remarked, noting that the programs carried out would focus on ex-prisoners and victims of terrorism.
In addition to working with the Social Ministry, Hartono affirmed that the BNPT collaborates with other ministries and government agencies, including the military and police, as well as the Religious Affairs Ministry, to promote the values of Pancasila, democracy, and tolerance.
Furthermore, BNPT plans to establish a National Preparedness Center in West Jakarta this year. The facility is envisioned to play a strategic role in boosting the nation's preparedness and resilience against terror threats.
