Majalengka, W Java (ANTARA) - The Majalengka Police in West Java Province confirmed that the National Police's anti-terrorism squad, Densus 88, has apprehended four residents suspected of terrorist activity as part of an ongoing operation.

The Head of Public Relations for the Majalengka Police, Police Second Inspector (Ipda) Riyana, said on Saturday that the arrests were made at multiple locations on Friday (Dec 27).

The spokesperson added that the suspects are connected to a larger terrorist network operating in the province's Tasikmalaya region.

Densus 88, with the assistance of the Majalengka Police, has also conducted searches at four residences linked to the suspects.

"We are cooperating with Densus 88 in these arrests," Riyana said. "Further details will be released by the West Java Regional Police."

While the suspects are all residents of Majalengka, specific findings from the searches remain undisclosed.

Riyana urged the public to remain calm and assured them of the Majalengka Police's commitment to maintaining regional security, especially with New Year's Eve approaching.
