This multi-sport event, a celebration of winter sports, will take place from February 7 to 14.
Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian Team for the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games, Josephine Tampubolon, emphasized that this participation represents a strategic step in the development of winter sports in Indonesia.
"As a tropical nation, Indonesia's participation in a winter multi-sport event is a remarkable achievement," Tampubolon stated in an official press release on Saturday.
She underscored the importance of providing unwavering support to the athletes to ensure they can compete at their peak performance.
In preparation for the Games, the Indonesian Olympic Committee (NOC) is collaborating closely with the Indonesian Ice Skating Federation (PB FISI) to guarantee adequate training and access to necessary facilities for the athletes.
"Our primary responsibility is to serve, facilitate, and ensure that the competing athletes are in optimal condition to achieve the best possible results for Indonesia at the 2025 Asian Winter Games," Tampubolon stated.
Indonesia's participation in the 2025 Asian Winter Games marks a significant milestone in the nation's sports development, particularly for winter sports.
The Games also present a valuable opportunity to introduce winter sports to the broader public and raise awareness of their potential within Indonesia.
The Indonesian contingent's participation in the 2025 Asian Winter Games in Harbin is anticipated to usher in a new era for winter sports in the country.
To support the team's endeavors, Indonesian NOC Chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari, along with Deputy Chairman Ismail Ning and two Executive Committee members representing winter sports, will accompany the Indonesian Team to the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games.
The Indonesian contingent is scheduled to depart for Harbin, China, on February 4 and will attend the opening ceremony on February 7. The team's return to Indonesia is planned for February 15.
