While briefing regional leaders at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java, on Wednesday, he emphasized that the success of priority programs will depend on the synergy between the central and regional governments, among other things.
"Please monitor and support the infrastructure, supply chain, and the distribution of MBG," he told the regional leaders.
He then highlighted the priority programs of the government, including free meals and stunting eradication.
"We must support priority programs such as free nutritious meals, downstreaming, energy self-sufficiency, food self-sufficiency, and job creation," he stressed.
He added that the government's stunting elimination target can be achieved by providing supplementary food to pregnant women and children under-five.
The Vice President also encouraged regional leaders to continuously maintain and nurture tolerance in their respective regions, citing Singkawang city in West Kalimantan as an example for other regions to emulate.
Earlier, on February 20, 2025, President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated 961 regional leaders simultaneously at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, following the 2024 local polls.
The mass swearing-in ceremony involved 33 governors, 33 deputy governors, 363 district heads, 362 deputy district heads, 85 mayors, and 85 deputy mayors, marking a historic moment for Indonesia.
Following their inauguration, some regional leaders joined the retreat at the Military Academy, which is being held from February 21–28.
