Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka called on regional leaders participating in the orientation retreat in Magelang, Central Java, to build synergy and work hand in hand under President Prabowo Subianto's command.

"Despite differences in religion, political party, and ethnicity, we were all born to the great family of Indonesia. To manage such a huge country, we must truly collaborate, synergize, and unite under President Prabowo's command," he told regional heads.

Speaking at the Military Academy on Wednesday (February 26), Gibran stressed that concerted efforts from the central and regional governments are essential for Indonesia to optimally implement priority programs and policies.

"It is vital that we align steps to support priority initiatives, such as those associated with free nutritious meals, downstreaming efforts, energy self-sufficiency, food self-sufficiency, and job creation," he emphasized.

He then drew attention to the Free Nutritious Meals programs, the success of which significantly depends on the supply of necessary food materials and ingredients from regions.

Bearing this in mind, the vice president urged regional leaders to closely oversee the infrastructure, supply chain, and distribution of free nutritious meals.

After delivering briefs for about 30 minutes, Gibran proceeded to preside over a discussion session, during which he invited regional heads to share their best practices.

Under President Prabowo's direction, the Ministry of Home Affairs is organizing a retreat, or leadership orientation, for approximately 500 regional leaders, including governors, district heads, and mayors, from February 21 to 28, 2025.

This event, featuring ministers and heads of other state institutions as speakers, is designed to strengthen synergy between the central and regional governments.

In addition to VP Gibran, several officials have delivered presentations during the retreat, including Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Rini Widyantini, and Chief of the National Police (Polri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
