The group's formation is regulated in the Decree of the Coordinating Minister for Food Number 6 of 2025.
In a press conference on Tuesday, he explained that the step was taken to supervise the distribution of 9.55 million tons of subsidized fertilizers to ensure accuracy.
The working group's responsibilities include coordinating the creation of policies related to subsidized fertilizers and managing the implementation of policies related to subsidized fertilizers, especially the availability and stabilization of prices.
It is also tasked with monitoring and evaluating the implementation of policies related to subsidized fertilizers and conducting other tasks related to subsidized fertilizer policies, both directly and indirectly.

In carrying out its tasks, the working group can involve ministries, government agencies, regional governments, stakeholders, and other parties that are considered necessary.
Furthermore, the group can form a supporting work unit whose tasks and personnel are determined by the Deputy for Food and Agriculture Business Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Food as the working group's chair.
The working group is also required to report the implementation of its tasks to the coordinating minister for food at least twice a year or at any time if necessary.
According to Hasan, the presence of the working group is crucial to avoid irregularities in the distribution of subsidized fertilizers as part of the efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency.
"It will continue to be supervised where the 9.5 million tons (of subsidized fertilizers) are distributed in a year will be supervised," he emphasized.
