Director of prisoner and juvenile services at the ministry, Masjuno, said that the activity was aimed at directly assessing the quality of services provided to inmates and ensuring security and order during the month of Ramadan.
"The month of Ramadan is an opportunity for inmates to draw closer to God. Therefore, we ensure that all worship facilities, including the prayer room, the Quran, and religious activity schedules, are well-provided," he said.
He explained that the inspection focused on the fulfillment of the basic rights of inmates, particularly in terms of health services, basic needs, and access to worship during Ramadan.
In addition, the activity aimed to ensure strengthened supervision and security as a priority to prevent potential disturbances of order within the detention center.
He added that the efforts are part of the ministry's commitment to ensuring that each inmate receives proper services and can carry out their worship in peace.
"This aligns with the implementation of the 13 Acceleration Programs and the directives from the minister regarding the optimization of social reintegration as the goal of corrections, which is expected to restore the relationship of life and livelihood for inmates," he said.
Meanwhile, the head of the detention center, Raja Muhammad Ismael Novadiansyah, emphasized the importance of enhancing services and security during the month of Ramadan.
"We are committed to improving services for inmates, particularly in the area of religious mentoring. In addition, we are enhancing supervision and security within the detention center to ensure the atmosphere remains conducive so that inmates can practice worship comfortably," he said.
