He noted that nowadays, young people in several countries are being equipped with AI skills through formal education curricula.
Therefore, he expressed hope that Indonesia would not fall behind and would quickly adopt similar steps.
"In other countries, their governments have already started doing this. Their young people are encouraged to learn AI," Gibran said during the "Artificial Intelligence: Shaping Indonesia’s Future" event.
He emphasized that AI is not a threat to humanity, stating that it is merely a tool and that human roles remain irreplaceable.
"This is not a threat," he said. "AI will not replace humans. Because no matter what, the human touch is still needed."
He said that he expects the application of AI in Indonesia to be broadened and not be limited to creative fields, such as photography, video, or animation.
He stressed the importance of utilizing AI in public sectors, such as government administration, tax payments, and disaster mitigation.
"In the future, we want AI to improve public services, tax payments, and traffic management. Hence, congestion at toll exits and other areas can be resolved with AI," Gibran said.
After the event, he visited an exhibition showcasing several AI-based innovations.
