This high satisfaction rate indicates that the public still holds hope in President Prabowo's leadership.Jakarta (ANTARA) - A recent survey shows that 71 percent of Indonesian respondents support the government's budget efficiency policy, with many viewing it favorably.
The survey, titled “Social Analysis: Public Perception of Optimism and Government Performance,” was conducted by Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO). It gauged public sentiment on various populist policies introduced by President Prabowo Subianto since his inauguration last October.
In a statement released on Sunday, IPO noted that while the budget efficiency policy and the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program initially sparked debate, public sentiment now appears largely positive.

Seventy-one percent of respondents considered the budget efficiency policy sound, with 62 percent expressing satisfaction. President Prabowo launched the policy in January, aiming to save Rp306.6 trillion (approximately US$18.8 billion).
The survey also found strong support for the MBG program, with 68 percent believing it is being implemented effectively and 60 percent expressing satisfaction. Only 19 percent reported dissatisfaction.

Conducted from May 22–28, the survey included interviews with 1,200 respondents. It has a margin of error of 2.9 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent. Sampling was carried out using a multistage random sampling (MRS) method to ensure data representation.
Overall, the survey revealed that 81 percent of respondents are satisfied with the government's performance.
