“To achieve this, we cannot rely solely on domestic consumption. We must unlock the full potential of our real economy, from farmers to factories and from ports to digital platforms. This calls for bold infrastructure investments,” he stated here on Wednesday.
He made these remarks during the opening of the International Conference on Infrastructure (ICI) 2025 in Jakarta.
He noted that President Prabowo Subianto has set out a bold and clear development agenda focused on strengthening food, water, and energy security, aiming for an integrated, just, and sustainable future.
He therefore urged all stakeholders to support President Prabowo's priority programs through infrastructure development.
Minister Yudhoyono stressed that infrastructure is not just about physical construction but also about creating access and opportunities, as well as fostering national unity.
He expressed hope that ICI 2025 would serve as a platform for realizing concrete commitments, transformative partnerships, and cross-border action to build a global infrastructure system that is not only strong but also fair and regenerative.
He officially opened the two-day ICI 2025, held on June 11-12 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC).
The forum gathers over seven thousand delegates from 33 countries, including ministers, ambassadors, development partners, and global business leaders.
Themed “Sustainable Infrastructure for the Future: Innovation and Collaboration,” the ICI serves as a global platform for collaboration among participants from six continents.
The forum features thematic sessions on strategic topics such as urbanization and future cities, climate-resilient and clean energy infrastructure, public transportation and inter-island connectivity, digital and educational infrastructure, and financing strategies, among others.
