Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has praised the Ministry of Health for its work on the Ngoerah Sun Wellness & Aesthetic Center (NSWAC), located at Prof. Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar, Bali.

"This is a true reflection of the Health Ministry’s efforts. I thank all parties who have worked hard to make this happen," he said during the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday.

Prabowo noted that the opening of the center, along with its modern facilities and comprehensive services, is expected to meet public demand for quality healthcare and enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness in the medical tourism sector.

Also speaking at the event, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin explained that the aesthetic center was developed within a government hospital in Bali due to the island’s strong potential as a medical tourism hub.

He said that since beginning operations in February, the center has served 1,200 Indonesian patients and 250 foreign nationals, primarily from Australia, Russia, and Ukraine.

"Through NSWAC, we want to harness Bali’s spirit — its natural beauty and hospitality — to attract both local and international tourists in building Indonesia’s medical tourism industry," said Sadikin.

According to Nahla Shihab, deputy general manager of NSWAC, the center spans 12,500 square meters and is equipped with modern medical technology and internationally certified healthcare professionals.

“We hope NSWAC positions Indonesia, especially Bali, as a regional hub for wellness and aesthetic tourism offering modern facilities, a multidisciplinary team, and service rooted in local values,” she said.
