Jakarta (ANTARA) - Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin stated that the Indonesian National Police's (Polri's) 79th anniversary, themed "Polri for the People," underscores the institution's continued commitment to serving and protecting the public.

"By adopting the theme 'Polri for the People,' it affirms the Indonesian National Police’s dedication to being present within the community, providing the best possible service, and acting as both protector and guardian of the people," Burhanuddin noted in a statement on Tuesday.

He expressed hope that Polri would continue to safeguard and serve the people while upholding its role as the frontline institution in maintaining public security and order.

The attorney general also emphasized the importance of professionalism and fair law enforcement, calling on Polri to persevere in contributing to national unity through unwavering dedication.

"Let us work together to build a safer, more peaceful, and just Indonesia," he affirmed.

Burhanuddin also extended his congratulations to Polri on its 79th anniversary.

"I, Burhanuddin, Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia, along with the entire office, congratulate the Indonesian National Police on the 79th Bhayangkara Day. Long live Polri, for a Golden Indonesia 2045," he stated.

Police Public Relations Division spokesperson Brig. Gen. Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko noted that the 79th Bhayangkara Day celebration was not only a moment of pride for the police force but also a symbol of unity with the broader community.

Security personnel, community elements (potmas), and civil protection units (linmas) from across the country are set to march alongside Polri officers and other security partners during the anniversary parade on Tuesday (July 1).
