Referring to data from the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), he noted that landslides occurred at 21 locations, while floods were reported at seven sites across the affected sub-districts.
"We have been striving to quickly evacuate residents and handle the situation," Susmanto stated in an official statement cited in Bogor District, West Java, on Sunday.
He confirmed that the disasters had claimed three lives and damaged a number of homes and public infrastructure.
"In Megamendung Sub-district, a 22-year-old Islamic boarding school student who had gone missing in a landslide was found dead. Meanwhile, similar disasters claimed two lives in Cisarua Sub-district," he explained.
He also reported that several people had been trapped on a trekking trail in Babakan Madang Sub-district due to rising floodwaters, noting that all of them have been safely evacuated.
Furthermore, Susmanto emphasized that the district government is continuing to coordinate with soldiers, police officers, volunteers, and the public to carry out emergency response efforts, including evacuations, data collection, aid distribution, and health service provision.
"We are acting as swiftly as possible because the safety of residents is our top priority," he said, adding that authorities will also initiate post-disaster recovery measures immediately.
He then urged the public to raise vigilance, particularly in landslide- and flood-prone areas, and to report disaster risks through the emergency call center 112.
"I would like to thank all parties involved in swift disaster handling efforts. Synergy among all elements of society is essential to achieve quick recovery," he concluded.
