"The aid will be immediately terminated, and their accounts will be closed," Muhaimin stated in Tanah Abang, Jakarta, on Monday evening (July 14).
The minister noted that the accounts of social aid recipients caught gambling online will be closed automatically by the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK).
"PPATK will automatically shut them down," he remarked.
However, Muhaimin rejected claims that social aid recipients were involved in terrorism financing.
"There is no such case," he responded briefly.
Earlier, PPATK Head Ivan Yustivandana revealed that around 571,410 National Identity Numbers (NIK) registered as social aid recipients were identified as online gamblers in 2024.
During a hearing with Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (July 10), Ivan explained that the data was the result of a cross-check between lists of social aid recipients and those involved in online gambling activity.
He also revealed that over 100 individuals receiving social assistance were found to be involved in terrorism financing.
"There are also NIKs linked to criminal acts of corruption and even terrorism financing. More than 100 of them were identified as being involved in terrorism-related financial activities,” Ivan remarked.
