Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has called for a thorough investigation by law enforcement into the death of young Foreign Ministry diplomat Arya Daru Pangayunan (ADP).

"The president has entrusted law enforcement officials to conduct the investigation as thoroughly as possible," State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi said during a press conference at the Presidential Palace complex on Friday.

He asked all parties to await the results of the investigation.

"We will wait for the result," he continued.

Previously, the Head of Public Relations for the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, stated that investigators had reviewed surveillance videos from 20 locations, including ADP's boarding house and several places he had visited, such as his office.

"The footage covers the past seven days. The digital forensics and analysis team from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police's Cyber Investigation Directorate is still examining this digital evidence," Indradi said on Thursday.

His team has also questioned 15 witnesses, including individuals from around his boarding house, his workplace, ADP's family, and people who had last communicated with him.

ADP was found dead by a boarding house guard on July 8 in his room in Jakarta, with duct tape wrapped around his head.

His body was autopsied at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) to determine the cause of death.

The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) hopes the cause of death can be revealed soon.

Kompolnas Commissioner Mohammad Choirul Anam said the Jakarta Metropolitan Police had secured several pieces of evidence, including digital records, and is now awaiting the autopsy results.

Anam noted that no significant obstacles have been found in solving the case.

"We are only waiting on the autopsy result and will announce (the cause of death) soon," he said.

Earlier, the Foreign Affairs Ministry handed over surveillance videos from its office to the police force.

"Since the beginning of the incident on July 8, the ministry has supported the police investigation process, including handing over surveillance footage as requested," said the ministry's spokesperson, Rolliansyah "Roy" Soemirat, in a statement on Thursday.

The ministry is committed to cooperating and providing any support needed to resolve the case.

"The ministry is not in a position to interpret the results of the investigation or provide additional information, as that falls entirely under police authority," Roy added.
