This was announced by Foreign Minister Sugiono after accompanying Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the 13th Annual Consultation with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.
"We also discussed the establishment of Community Learning Center for children and students in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak, so that the children of Indonesian migrant workers can attend school there," Sugiono remarked during a press conference at the Merdeka Palace.
During the bilateral Annual Consultation, President Subianto and Prime Minister Ibrahim discussed the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and global issues.
Sugiono remarked that the two leaders discussed border negotiations, including reducing the number of fishing arrests in each other's respective regions, which had earlier been a source of conflict between the two countries.
The meeting between the two countries' delegations also addressed unresolved issues.
"During the bilateral meeting, the delegations of the two countries succeeded in resolving several pending issues, including trade matters and ways to improve them, as well as other ongoing concerns between the two countries," he stated.
He noted that the bilateral meeting with their respective delegations took place over lunch in a friendly and familial atmosphere.
"The president also stated that Indonesia and Malaysia must maintain close cooperative relations because we come from the same ethnic group, share the same culture, and speak the same language," the foreign minister remarked.
