Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo is scheduled to deliver speeches at three regional forums under the framework of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on August 11-13, 2025.

Pramono received invitations from the secretary-general of the Malaysian Housing and Local Government Ministry, the Kuala Lumpur mayor, and the secretary-general of the United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific (UCLG ASPAC).

Pramono’s communications staff member, Chico Hakim, stated in Jakarta on Monday that the governor departed the capital city on Sunday (August 10) and would return on Wednesday (August 13).

Sharing details on the paradiplomatic agenda, Hakim noted that Pramono would participate in the ASEAN Sustainable Urbanization Forum (ASUF), the Meeting of Governors and Mayors of ASEAN Capitals (MGMAC), and the ASEAN Governors and Mayors Forum (AGMF) 2025.

"These three forums are organized by the Malaysian Ministry of Housing and Local Government in collaboration with URBANICE Malaysia, UCLG ASPAC, UN-Habitat, and the ASEAN Secretariat under the theme ‘ASEAN Future Cities and Regions: Inclusivity and Sustainability,’" Hakim explained.

The events will bring together local government leaders from ASEAN member states to exchange views on ways to promote inclusive and sustainable urban environments that are resilient to future challenges.

Governor Pramono is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Kuala Lumpur Mayor Maimunah binti Mohd Sharif and serve as a keynote speaker at several sessions, including the Workshop on Digital Twins for Deep Sustainability on Monday.

On Tuesday (August 12), he will deliver remarks at the High-Level Dialogue 2: Charting the Local Path to ASEAN 2045 of the ASUF 2025. The following day, he will speak at a session of the MGMAC 2025 and an assembly of the AGMF 2025.
