According to ANTARA’s observation at the location, games were held across all corners of Monas, including tug-of-war, cracker-eating contest, make-up competition, cup-blowing game, lomba enggrang or stilts race, sack race, panjat pinang or pole climbing contest, and many others.
The games were organized by an event organizer appointed by Monas and were open to the public free of charge.
Activities were divided into several sessions, allowing those who missed the morning session to join the afternoon session, which resumed at 1 p.m. local time.
Despite the scorching heat, participants’ enthusiasm remained high as they celebrated the 80th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence.

The winners of each game, from first to third place, received prizes such as stationery and tumblers.
In addition to the games, the public enjoyed a variety of free food spread across the Monas area.
Children played in the inflatable castle zone, while visitors of all ages enjoyed live music performances on multiple stages. The Pesta Rakyat festivities at Monas were scheduled to continue until 10 p.m. local time.
The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, through its official Instagram account @disparekrafdki, announced that visitors could explore several exciting zones at the festival.
These included the “Podjok Foto,” featuring photo booths and photo boxes; the “Podjok Djoeang,” offering classic Independence Day games; and the “Podjok Djadoel,” inviting the public to relive nostalgic childhood moments with traditional games such as gundu (marbles) and gasing (spinning tops).
