Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection echoed the importance of independence for women and children in the country during the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.

"The logo and theme for the 80th Independence Day were launched in coincidence with the commemoration of National Children's Day, July 23. The theme is United Sovereignty, Prosperous People, Advanced Indonesia," the ministry's Secretary, Titi Eko Rahayu, remarked in Jakarta on Sunday.

On this Independence Day, she expressed hopes for Indonesian women and children to have independent access to health and education, and also be free from violence.

"As Indonesia matures, women and children must have independence. Freedom to access health care, receive a proper education, and to participate," she emphasized.

For this year's Independence Day celebration, her ministry, together with the Ministry of Social Affairs, supported by Danantara and the committee, established the Ceria Women and Children's Friends (SAPA) Posts at three strategic locations in the Monas area.

These posts will serve to assist children separated from their parents during the celebration of People's Party and Independence Carnival tonight.

"This step is a precautionary measure to ensure that separated children can be assisted and reconnected with their parents. We hope these posts will not only be responsive but also prevent children from being separated, given the high level of public enthusiasm for these events," Rahayu remarked.

Furthermore, the ministry also drew attention to the importance of strengthening family quality as a foundation for achieving a Golden Indonesia 2045.

This initiative will be realized through the introduction of local Intellectual Property (IP) promoted by the Ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Population and Family Development at the Independence Carnival tonight.

"Tonight, a parade will be held featuring 29 decorated vehicles. The two ministries are taking part in the parade with vehicle number 19, highlighting the theme of family quality and featuring a local IP called Squad Midodo," Rahayu informed.

The parade will introduce a mascot representing a harmonious family and convey the importance of character building within the family to prevent violence and create a positive environment for children, she continued.
