"Basarnas is deploying 35 trained personnel from the Medan SAR Office and other SAR posts," said Head of the Medan Class A Search and Rescue Agency, Herry Marantika, in a statement received in Medan on Saturday.
In addition to personnel support, Basarnas Medan is also deploying primary water equipment, including one SAR Vessel 412, one Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB), and one high-speed Rescue Buoyancy Boat (RBB).
He added that his agency will also deploy two LCR boats to support evacuations in areas difficult for large vessels to reach.
Marantika explained that all deployed personnel will be equipped with various water rescue equipment and medical equipment, which will be stationed at several locations.
"This includes the entry and exit routes for participants and spectator areas, with a full alert system throughout the event," he said.
He explained that these efforts demonstrate his commitment to supporting and ensuring the success of the international event in his jurisdiction.
"This event is not only a source of pride for North Sumatra, but also for Indonesia in the eyes of the world. The Medan Class A Search and Rescue Office is ready to provide maximum support, both in terms of personnel, water equipment, and air resources, to ensure the event runs safely and smoothly," he said.
